IQ-EQ’s Laura Kearns shortlisted for Jersey Finance Rising Stars award

IQ-EQ is pleased to share that Laura Kearns has been shortlisted in the Compliance category of the 2020 Jersey Finance Rising Stars Awards.

Hosted by Jersey Finance, these prestigious awards aim to reward and celebrate the successes and achievements of the young talent working within Jersey’s finance industry.

Laura joined our Jersey office as a new graduate in 2017 and quickly became an essential member of the Risk team, achieving her first promotion only a year later. As Risk Officer, Laura is primarily responsible for managing IQ-EQ Jersey’s politically exposed persons (PEP) risk by ensuring appropriate identification and risk-mitigating measures are in place in the business. She has also played a key role in integrating the Jersey Risk function into IQ-EQ’s group corporate governance and risk management processes.

Further, Laura is actively involved with the office’s trainee rotation scheme, representing IQ-EQ at various career events in Jersey and providing support and guidance to the firm’s junior recruits.

Since graduating from University of Plymouth with an Honours degree in Geography, Laura has achieved – with distinction – her foundation certificate in International Trust Management from the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and is now working towards a diploma in Anti Money Laundering from the International Compliance Association (ICA).

Voting is now open to determine the winners of this year’s Rising Stars Awards. Results will be revealed at the awards ceremony in Jersey later in the year. Good luck Laura!
