IQ-EQ is pleased to announce that a senior member of our Group Legal team, Gery Bouwman, has been promoted to the newly created position of Group Head of Legal, Continental Europe.
Gery joined the Group in 2019 as Group Senior Legal Counsel and is based in Luxembourg. Before IQ-EQ, Gery was a mergers and acquisitions (M&A) lawyer at Loyens & Loeff for six years, working in both Luxembourg and Brussels.
Gery is Dutch by background, speaks Dutch, English, Luxembourgish and French, and has strong international experience within continental Europe, having been approved to practise law by the regulators in Luxembourg and Belgium. She has also studied law in the Netherlands, Belgium and the UK.
In her new role, Gery will oversee and manage legal risk across our continental European businesses, with particular focus on the more material and complex matters. She will improve the consistency of legal risk management between jurisdictions, enhance connectivity between IQ-EQ’s Group Legal function and our regional clusters, and provide legal support to the senior leadership team to help develop a legal resource model that supports business objectives.
Gery will report directly to Chris Marsden, IQ-EQ’s Group General Counsel. He commented:
“As well as being a highly qualified and technically strong lawyer, Gery is also highly commercial with a ‘can do’ mentality. I am delighted to be able to recognise Gery with this well-deserved promotion and look forward to working with her in her new role.”
