We are pleased to announce that James Morellec has been promoted to Director for Pensions, and Matt Brehaut to Director for Funds in Guernsey.
Prior to James’ promotion, he was a Senior Manager in Guernsey responsible for running the team servicing our pension clients. James has been with IQ-EQ for 14 years and brings to the board a wealth of experience, having worked in the fiduciary industry for the past 21 years. Most of his career has been spent in the administration of traditional Private Wealth structures with increasing focus on pension management. James is a regular attendee at GAPP (Guernsey Association of Pension Providers) meetings where he likes to keep himself abreast of new pension opportunities and knowledge sharing to ensure the best practices are applied across industry.
Meanwhile, Matt has been promoted to Director of our Funds business in Guernsey, having also been with IQ-EQ for 14 years. Prior to his appointment, Matt was an Associate Director responsible for the day-to-day client delivery of the legacy Moore Management business in Guernsey.
Matt previously worked for BDO where he worked in audit, specialising in fund and financial services clients. Matt is an ACCA qualified accountant and he also holds the CISI Level 3 in Islamic finance. In his new role, Matt will continue to lead the team, which primarily services real estate fund clients in Guernsey. He works closely with colleagues across the Group given that many of his clients are serviced by multiple offices. Matt also has an interest in Sharia compliant funds and his team currently administer a number of funds for Middle Eastern clients.
Both James and Matt reflect the standard of talent in IQ-EQ Guernsey and their promotions represent the ongoing success of the Private Wealth and Funds operations in the region.
