IQ-EQ appoints Head of Risk and Compliance for Continental Europe

We’re pleased to announce the appointment of Philip Hanssens as Head of Risk and Compliance for Continental Europe.

Philip has over 20 years’ international experience spanning asset management, insurance, and investment banking in the financial services sector. He joins IQ-EQ from Fidelity International where he was responsible for leading the European compliance advisory team and overseeing the delivery of advisory services across EMEA and Latin America as Chief Compliance Officer, Europe. Philip was also a Conducting Officer at Fidelity's UCITS and AIFMD management company in Luxembourg with responsibilities for business and investment compliance, outsourcing oversight, data protection and complaints handling. He has extensive experience of promoting and supporting strategic change, advising board directors, and leading successful teams from his previous roles with firms such as AIG, the Financial Services Authority (FSA) and other financial companies.

He is a qualified lawyer in the UK and U.S., and has an MBA from INSEAD, an LLM from Boston University School of Law and a Licentiate in Law from Catholic University of Leuven. Philip has also been involved with ESMA's Investment Management Committee Consultative Working Group and he plans to continue this involvement at IQ-EQ.

As IQ-EQ’s Head of Risk and Compliance, Continental Europe, Philip will work with other stakeholders across the Group to support and build on IQ-EQ’s risk, compliance and governance infrastructure in Europe to promote the firm’s ambitious objectives.
