Women in Alternative Assets: IQ-EQ speaks to Shefali Roy

24 May 2022

As a keen advocate of helping women achieve success in the alternative assets sphere, IQ-EQ has recently introduced a new podcast series titled ‘Women in Alternative Assets’ – and I had the pleasure of hosting the first episode, featuring award-winning angel investor Shefali Roy.

Developed in association with our IQ-EQ Launchpad initiative, this focused podcast series will see us sit down with women from across the alternative assets sector to discuss their experiences, their triumphs and how we can help more women succeed in the industry. It is our hope that shining the spotlight on more female fund professionals will help stimulate discussion as well as greater female participation across the industry.

In our first episode, we are joined by Shefali Roy, an angel investor who invests globally in start-ups within the Fintech, Creator Economy, FemTech and Future of Work sectors.

During this session, Shefali shares her views on the industry’s gender imbalance across regions and key barriers that women face in allocating investment capital, and gives advice to women raising their first fund.

You can listen to or watch the conversation below. Our podcast is also available via Apple PodcastsGoogle Podcasts and Spotify.

Working with IQ-EQ has been seamless – you and your team understand our business, advise us appropriately, and handle your side of our collective partnership so that we can focus on making good investment decisions. Evan Gibson SVP, Merchants Capital
