Alumni Privacy Notice

Introduction

This notice describes how IQ-EQ collects and uses (‘processes’) personal information about you in the context of our Alumni Network. It applies to anyone who worked for IQ-EQ, including its subsidiaries, in all countries and who is a member of our Alumni Network and will apply for as long as we hold your personal information. We may update this notice from time to time so always refer to our website and latest marketing material for the most current version.

In the context of this document ‘IQ-EQ’ refers to ALL areas of the business, whether you worked directly for or with the Group as an employee or contractor.

What information do we use?

The information that IQ-EQ uses may include information about:

  • Your name and email address
  • Your current employer and job title
  • The IQ-EQ segment in which you worked
  • The city and country in which you are based
  • The legacy IQ-EQ business in which you worked

How we use personal information

We use your information:

  • To keep you informed about our Alumni Network
  • To invite you to alumni events in your area
  • To provide you with information relating to your selected areas of interest

We will tell you if we use your personal information for a purpose that is not related to these reasons. This might be in a change to this notice, or via a specific communication.

How we collect personal information

Some of the data we use would have been collected from you as part of your recruitment to IQ-EQ, such as your name, email address and IQ-EQ business segment or company.

Further data is created or collected through your interactions with our invitations and registration forms for alumni marketing events, and attendance at events.

Our lawful basis

By law, we must have a lawful reason for processing your personal information.

We rely on legitimate interest as a lawful basis for processing your personal information for the purposes of the Alumni Network.  The types of legitimate interest which allow us to process your personal information include:

  • to identify you as a potential member of the Alumni Network, and to contact you about events;
  • to manage our relationship with you as an Alumni Network member;

How we share personal information

We will only share your personal information with third parties for the purposes of administering and managing the Alumni Network. We may also share your information with government agencies, regulatory bodies, and law enforcement agencies where we are obliged to by law.

International transfers of personal information

The personal information that we collect may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside of the UK and the European Economic Area (EEA). It may also be processed by companies operating outside the UK and EEA who work for us or for one of our service providers. If we do this, we will ensure that appropriate protection is in place in line with data protection laws and this notice. Security of personal information

We have in place appropriate technical security measures to prevent your personal information from being accidentally lost, used, or accessed in an unauthorised way, or altered or disclosed. We limit access to your personal information to those employees, agents, contractors and other third parties who we have allowed access to. They will only process your personal information on our instructions, and they are subject to appropriate controls when doing so.

How long we keep personal information for

Your personal information will be retained in accordance with local jurisdictional requirements and for as long as you are a member of our Alumni Network.

We securely and permanently delete your personal information at the end of its retention period. If you would like more information about how long we will keep personal information for, please contact us at dataprotection@iqeq.com.

Your rights

Your rights under data protection law may depend on where in the world you live and/or work, but they normally include your right to:

  • Ask what personal information relating to you is being used and why, and to receive a copy of it
  • Ask to have information corrected or updated
  • Object to a particular aspect of how your information is used, or have it deleted/erased
  • Ask to have your information transferred to a new provider (this applies only in extremely limited circumstances)

Making a request does not guarantee that we will be able to comply with it. There may be legal or other reasons for us to reject part or all of your request.
