Anil Ponnampalam

Anil Ponnampalam is Director and Head of Business and Investments Private Markets, Fund Platform and Solutions for Asia and the Middle East at IQ‑EQ, with over 20 years of investment and management experience across both liquid and illiquid strategies.

Anil leads the private markets business and investments across the region, with a focus on fund structuring and portfolio management. He also serves as Portfolio Manager, member to Investment Committees, and Board Director to several private equity, real estate, venture capital, infrastructure, and private debt funds.

He has worked on both public and private markets mandates over the years, having managed assets for a wide range of institutional clients, including sovereigns, pensions, corporates, funds of funds and multi‑family offices.

Prior to joining IQ‑EQ through the acquisition of Gordian Capital in July 2025, Anil served as Chief Portfolio Officer (Fund Solutions) at Gordian Capital Singapore Private Limited. Before that, he held portfolio and product management roles at Daiwa Sumitomo Bank Investments and Hedge Fund Fundamental Capital. He began his career at the Development Bank of Singapore (DBS) Treasury and Capital Markets and subsequently worked at boutique investment firm Orion Capital.

Anil is a registered representative with the Monetary Authority of Singapore for the regulated activity of fund management, is a Member of the Singapore Institute of Directors and a registered Director with the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority.

Anil holds a postgraduate master’s degree in Economics and International Finance from King’s College London and completed the Private Equity Executive Programme at the University of Oxford (Saïd Business School). He also holds an undergraduate degree in Engineering with Honours.
