Two from IQ-EQ win at the 2022 Citywealth Future Leaders Awards

24 Nov 2022

IQ-EQ is delighted to announce that Luke Cassin has won gold for ‘Senior Trust Officer of the Year’ and Reece Le Cocq has won silver for ‘Trust Officer of the Year’ in this year’s Citywealth Future Leaders Awards.

The Future Leaders Awards champion the rising stars of the private wealth sector aged under 40, who not only excel at their work and display strong leadership potential but are also making a positive difference to society.

Luke is based in our Jersey office, having joined the business as a trust officer in 2016. Since being promoted to senior trust officer in 2018, aged just 22, Luke manages a large and diverse private client portfolio of special purpose vehicles (SPVs), including complex multi-layered and multi-jurisdictional structures. He enjoys mentoring junior colleagues and his work highlights include managing the successful migration and continuation of the first limited partnership into Jersey under the Limited Partnerships (Continuance) (Jersey) Regulations 2020.

This year Luke took part in the Boxinbusiness white collar boxing event, which raised £1500 for Mind Jersey. Previously, he has travelled to Tawa and Kenya with Jersey Overseas Aid, an international aid agency funded by the States of Jersey, to build sand dams with the local community in partnership with Excellent Development.

Meanwhile, Reece, who is also based in our Jersey office, has been with IQ-EQ since 2017. In this time, he’s been promoted from trainee to officer and has already completed his STEP qualification. He deals with a wide range of structures, entities and clients and has actively supported several new starters at IQ-EQ via our buddy scheme.

Reece always helps with IQ-EQ’s community initiatives, encouraging team building and collaboration, and has run a series of successful Christmas charity raffles in support of Jersey Hospice. He’s also taken part in charity cooking days for the Grace Trust, a Jersey charity helping those in poverty within the local community, and most recently spent a day making 50 litres of spinach, broccoli and coconut soup for their soup kitchen.

Winners were announced on 16 November 2022 at a cocktail awards ceremony in London.

Working with IQ-EQ has been seamless – you and your team understand our business, advise us appropriately, and handle your side of our collective partnership so that we can focus on making good investment decisions. Evan Gibson SVP, Merchants Capital
