We’re hosting an exclusive edition of our Speaker Series in Johannesburg on 19 August 2026.
This year’s discussion, titled “Private capital in motion: structuring wealth, financing Africa”, will bring together investors, wealth advisers and industry leaders to explore the evolving landscape of private wealth and private capital across Africa.
As international capital flows continue to evolve, our speakers will examine how wealth is being structured, preserved and deployed across the continent, with a focus on Mauritius as a gateway for investment into Africa and the growing role of private credit in supporting Africa’s next phase of growth.
Key themes for discussion:
- The evolving landscape of private wealth and private capital in Africa
- Mauritius’ role as a gateway for international investment into the continent
- The rise of private credit as a driver of African growth
- Structuring wealth and investment platforms for long-term value creation
- Opportunities and challenges shaping Africa’s investment future
The evening will feature a fireside chat on “Mauritius as a platform for private wealth, investment and corporate expansion”, featuring Puseletso Mbele of Sompisi Crescent Investments and Chris Wynne-Potts of FUMA. This will be followed by a panel discussion, “Private credit: the next engine of African investment?”, with insights from Michael Denenga of Webber Wentzel, Edmund Higenbottam of Verdant Capital, Christine Gibson of ABSA, and Rehma Imrith, Managing Director, Mauritius and Africa at IQ-EQ.
We look forward to a thought-provoking discussion that will offer valuable insights into the future of private wealth, private capital and cross-border investment in Africa.
