29 September 2022

IQ-EQ Private Debt webinar in collaboration with Real Deals

IQ-EQ is pleased to host an exclusive webinar, in collaboration with Real Deals, on Thursday 29 September at 3pm BST.

The topic of discussion will be: “Why private debt is resilient in an inflationary environment”.

The Russia-Ukraine conflict is having a domino effect on the global economy. The sanctions against Russia have disrupted international supply chains and are creating upward pressure on the prices of key commodities such as crude oil and gas. This has led to rising inflation, well above the levels we have become accustomed to in recent years.

Private debt seems to react positively in an inflationary situation. Indeed, as we have already witnessed in early 2022, the recommended portfolio composition of 60:40 of equities to bonds suffered a serious setback in view of commodity price shocks, the uncertainty associated with the war in Ukraine, more conservative stances taken by central banks around the world, compounded by a squeeze on traditional fixed income. Now, more than ever, it is critical to consider assets that can cope with rising inflation especially instruments with variable cash flows and/or floating-rate coupons that adjust to the environment around them.

In this webinar, we will take a deep dive into the attractiveness of private debt in the current market situation.

IQ-EQ’s Stefan Rolf, Global Head of Securitisation and Private Debt, will be one of the speakers alongside, Gemma Braithwaite, MD Investor Relations at All Seas Capital,  Xenia Saari, Managing Director at Lincoln International and John Empson, Partner and the Co-head of Private Credit at CVC.

The panel discussion will be moderated by Talya Misiri, Editor at Real Deals.
