Muslims in Mauritius celebrated Eid on 3 May with great enthusiasm by wearing new clothes, praying, sharing food, donating alms to the poor and spending time with friends and family.
The phrase commonly used as a greeting on this day is “Eid Mubarak”, which is Arabic for ‘blessed festival’.
In Mauritius, more than 400 team members attended the celebrations, gathered around a traditional ‘briani’ lunch organised over two days, on Friday 6 and Monday 9 May.
‘Nu Baz’, the mess room was transformed with lights and curtains for the event, with a ‘henna design’ booth and sweet treats prepared by colleagues. Some people also dressed in traditional and colourful attires and looked dashing.
This was the first lunch organised in the office since early 2021 and everyone had a great time re-connecting after many months apart.
