Members from the ManCo Oversight Team, Risk Team and Compliance Team within IQ-EQ Fund Management (Ireland) completed the relatively new course, the Professional Certificate for Designated Persons in a Fund Management Company from the Institute of Banking (“IoB”) which was awarded in October 2022.
Our colleagues Claire Tubridy, Niamh Dowling, Kevin Meighan, Donal Bannon and Donal O’Flaherty attended the graduation ceremony from this course last night on 17 November 2022. This course has been created by IoB for those who already maintain a Designated Person (“DP”) role which is authorised by the Central Bank of Ireland (“CBI”), and those who aspire to acquire a DP Role in the future.
The course consisted of 12 weeks of lectures, two assignments and lots of group work among students during the 3-hour lectures. It covered a wide range of topics relating to regulation, delegate oversight, team management and client engagement. We believe the course will be integral for anyone embarking in a career in fund management and fund servicing companies.
There have been just two cohorts of this course from the Institute, making everyone who participated in both cohorts, industry leaders in the area. Last night saw both cohorts graduate and network at the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland.
