Anil Ponnampalam

Anil Ponnampalam is Managing Director, Fund Platform and Solutions, APAC and Middle East.

Anil is responsible for the strategic direction, commercial growth, and operational performance of the business and will continue to directly helm the private markets offering across regions. He serves on the boards of the IQ-EQ fund management entities in the region and is part of the APAC Regional Management Team.

Anil has over 20 years of investment and management experience across private, public, and capital markets having managed assets for a wide range of institutional clients, including sovereigns, pensions, corporates, funds of funds, and multi‑family offices.

Most recently, he served as Director, Head of Business and Investments, Private Markets, Fund Platform and Solutions, Asia and Middle East with a focus on fund structuring and portfolio management; serving as portfolio manager, and on investment committees and boards of several private equity, real estate, venture capital, infrastructure, and private debt funds. Prior to joining IQ‑EQ through the acquisition of Gordian Capital in July 2025, Anil served as the Chief Portfolio Officer at Gordian Capital Singapore Private Limited and was instrumental in building the Private Markets offering and business from its inception, accounting for the majority of Gordian Capital’s revenues and AUMs.

He previously held portfolio and product management roles at Daiwa SB Investments and Hedge Fund Fundamental Capital. He began his career on the equity derivatives structuring and trading desk at the Development Bank of Singapore (DBS) Treasury and Capital Markets and subsequently worked at a boutique corporate finance firm Orion Capital.

Anil is a registered representative with the Monetary Authority of Singapore for the regulated activity of fund management, is a Member of the Singapore Institute of Directors and a registered Director with the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority.

Anil holds a postgraduate master’s degree in management specialising in economics and international finance from King’s College London and completed the private equity executive programme at University of Oxford (Saïd Business School). He also holds an undergraduate degree in Engineering with Honours.
