Four from IQ-EQ in Private Client Global Elite directory

12 Feb 2023

Four of IQ-EQ’s private wealth leaders, Chip Martin, Darrell King, Alasdair McLaren and Alex Dean, have been named in the 2023 Private Client Global Elite (PCGE) directory, which showcases the world’s top private wealth professionals as chosen by their industry peers.

The PGCE directory was launched in 2017 in recognition of the importance of recommendations within the private client sector. Based entirely on the private wealth community’s own recommendations of top advisers and practitioners, the directory is highly respected globally and widely used by those looking for referrals, family offices and professional advisers.

The four experienced professionals from IQ-EQ who’ve made the list this year are:

Alex Dean, Head of Private Wealth, UK

With over 25 years in the private wealth sector, Alex has significant senior experience and expertise working with ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) clients and their advisors. In addition to his responsibilities as UK Head of Private Wealth, he is leading the development of IQ-EQ’s family office services proposition in Europe, driving new business and relationship development with single- and multi-family offices across the continent. Before joining IQ-EQ, Alex was a director with a private bank in London, responsible for driving the development of their UK private banking and multi-family office client base.

Darrell King, Managing Director, Private Wealth, Americas, IQ EQ Trust Company, U.S.

Darrell has over 30 years’ experience in the private wealth industry, the last 22 of which focused exclusively on families and their advisers across the Americas and Europe who have international requirements for the protection, management and transfer of wealth. Before joining IQ-EQ, Darrell was a business development director with a global multi-family office, and before that was the U.S. head of intermediary relationships for the international wealth management division of RBC, with postings in New York, Texas and Canada.

Chip Martin – President, Private Wealth, U.S.

Chip was a founder of Concord Trust Company prior to its acquisition by IQ-EQ in 2021. Before co-founding Concord, he was part of the senior management at a publicly traded company providing software solutions to the global financial services industry. His banking experience, combined with his extensive business management and M&A experience, gives him significant expertise in driving business growth and in working through the structuring issues that invariably surface in clients’ complex trusts.

Alasdair McLaren, Regional Head of Private Wealth for the UK, Ireland and Crown Dependencies

Throughout his 30+ years in the sector, spanning the UK and Caribbean as well as Guernsey, Alasdair has developed significant experience working with UHNW families, their family offices and their advisors with their complex wealth structuring requirements. Alasdair is also a well-known and respected member of the Guernsey fiduciary community through his years on the Guernsey Association of Trustees committee. He was also on STEP Council, is a regular speaker at industry conferences and features in eprivateclient’s ‘50 Most Influential’ ranking for 2023.
