IQ-EQ Crossroads 2025 to explore impact of geopolitical changes on private markets

22 Apr 2025

IQ-EQ is pleased to announce the return of its flagship annual industry event on 7 May 2025. This year, IQ-EQ Crossroads will explore the impact of evolving national policies on private markets, focusing on the opportunities that these shift present.

IQ-EQ Crossroads is a unique cross-sector conference examining key themes impacting the global investment community. Since its inception in 2018, it has become our flagship event, gathering key experts and decision-makers together in central London from across the financial sector.

Each year, the event focuses on a theme that reflects the current realities and challenges of the time, fostering insightful discussions and innovative solutions. Past themes have ranged from the future-proofing of the financial sector to the rise of conscious capitalism, and we’ve been honoured to host a variety of stand-out keynote speakers including Dr Pippa Malmgren, Roger Bootle, Diana Noble, Baroness Morrissey and Sir Bob Geldof.

For our 2025 event, our sights are set on the current geopolitical environment and how it relates to private markets. First up we’ll have a ‘fireside chat’ between John Legrand, our Deputy Group CEO and Regional CEO for the UK, Ireland and Crown Dependencies, and an exciting guest speaker who’s well versed in geopolitics and will be sharing his fascinating perspective and insights into how firms can navigate the changing dynamics, adapt and thrive.

This will be followed by a panel discussion chaired by our Group Chief Commercial Officer, Richard Surrency, during which private market experts will further explore how evolving national policies and shifting geopolitical dynamics are shaping the landscape for investors.

Commenting on the plans for this year’s Crossroads event, Richard said:

“Through this exclusive event we always strive to address the hottest topics impacting the private markets investment space. Given the ongoing shifts towards prioritising national interests in the U.S. and across Europe, geopolitics stood out as the natural theme for our 2025 conference and we’re very excited about the agenda we have lined up for our clients and industry partners next month. We’re also delighted to welcome back all of our established partners for this year’s event – Nomura, Latham & Watkins, and Bain & Company – and look forward to sharing further insights from the day’s discussions once the event has taken place.”
