John Legrand

John Legrand is IQ-EQ’s Deputy Group CEO and Regional CEO of the UK, Ireland and Crown Dependencies, based in London.

As Regional CEO, John is responsible for all activities across our UK, Ireland, Jersey, Guernsey and Isle of Man businesses. He heads up the regional leadership team encompassing finance, HR, operations, sales, risk and compliance, as well as client relationship management and client services.

In addition, John was promoted to Deputy Group CEO in early 2025; a role that will see him work closely with the wider Group Management Team to support the global business through its next phase of growth and cement IQ-EQ’s position as the leading global partner to private market investors.

John is a highly capable business leader with an impressive track record of business performance, whose 25-year career has afforded him the opportunity to operate across five continents and over 80 countries globally. Having held leadership positions both in Fortune 500 companies and multi-million-dollar FinTech start-ups, he has extensive operational and commercial expertise and is well accustomed to building businesses and leading teams to deliver operational excellence.

Since joining IQ-EQ in 2020, John has successfully nurtured a commercially aware and performance-based culture across his region that is centred first and foremost on people – building diverse teams, driving engagement and optimising employee retention.

Prior to IQ-EQ, John was Managing Director for Asia Pacific with BlackRock’s alternative investment software provider, eFront. Before that, he spent 10 years with BNY Mellon in Singapore and London as Managing Director of EMEA and APAC, and Head of Business Development for its Asia Pacific Asset Servicing division.

While at BNY Mellon he also sat on the firm’s Asia Pacific Executive and Operating committees, on its Asset Servicing Global Executive Committee, and on the boards of multiple companies. In addition, John has previously held international management roles with Advent Software (part of SS&C) and Linedata Services, further evidencing his strong credentials in investment servicing technologies.

In his spare time, John likes travelling, cooking, exercising, deep-sea fishing, and is a huge fan of history with more than 300 books in his collection. John enjoys mentoring people and finds it rewarding to see people excel in areas that were once outside of their comfort zone.
