Job Summary
- Resolve technical accounting queries raised by the Client Services (CS) team and clients in a timely manner. Effectively communicate technical accounting information to CS teams
- Provide technical support to sales and implementation team for prospective and/or new clients
- Perform/oversee the reviews on the financial statements and other complex client deliverables (including quality reviews). To help shape and ensure product quality control of the CS output
- Whilst main focus is on IFRS and UK GAAP, there are opportunities to develop experience in other GAAPs e.g. US GAAP, Lux GAAP
- Assist CS and/or implementation team with reviews of operational aspects of constitutive fund documents (LPAs etc)
- Perform reviews of carried interest/waterfall models and complex fees calculations for fund clients, assist with implementation of automation project
- Monitor latest accounting/ legislative changes impacting our clients and draft technical updates for accounting / legislative changes accordingly for release internally to CS teams as well occasional updates to clients.
- Develop and deliver (semi-annually) Technical presentations to update CS teams on accounting and PE industry developments
- Oversee the collection of technical and operational knowledge, and the in-house library of technical journals, articles and documentation relating to accounting issues for fund accounting teams to access
- Identify control weaknesses from reviews, discussions with internal senior CS stakeholders, and recommend control procedures to reduce risk
- Identify ways to improve efficiency and effectiveness in the group’s system and processes
- Manage and mentor Technical Accountants based in India and work closely with Technical Team members in other locations and provide guidance / escalation support to junior team members
- Support the development of new services / new business proposals through expert knowledge of internal procedures and industry practice
- Opportunities to collaborate with senior management on operational and strategic projects

Qualifications
Qualifications
- University Degree in Accountancy/Business/Maths or otherwise demonstrable strong aptitude for numeracy
- ACA, ACCA (or equivalent) qualified (5+ years post qualification experience)
Experience
- 3+ years’ financial services managerial experience within fund administration firm or managerial audit experience working preferably with a big 4 audit firm / Financial services industry
- Strong knowledge of Private Equity and/or Real Estate Funds is essential
- Strong IFRS Accounting Standards knowledge. Consolidation experience and knowledge of UK or US GAAP preferred but not mandatory
- Practical experience of reviewing Financial Statements including disclosures
- Conducting Training / knowledge share sessions experience will be preferable but not mandatory.
