SharePoint Content Analyst

Job Description

Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced SharePoint Content Analyst to contribute to the design, development, migration, and support of enterprise-scale SharePoint and Microsoft 365 solutions.

The role plays a key part in ensuring that our organisation’s content, sites, and workflows are well structured, governed, and optimised for usability and long-term scalability.

You will support our digital transformation journey, help drive the migration of content from SharePoint on‑premises to SharePoint Online, and work closely with stakeholders across multiple regions to enhance content organisation, collaboration, and productivity.

This role requires a balance of technical capability, business analysis, strong communication skills, and a deep understanding of SharePoint as a content and collaboration platform


Tasks (what does the role do on a day-to-day basis)

1. SharePoint Content Management & Governance

  • Analyse, organise, and manage SharePoint content repositories across the organisation.
  • Design and implement information architecture including site structures, content types, metadata, and taxonomy.
  • Maintain governance standards for security, permissions, retention, and content lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with organisational content policies and best practices for document management.

2. SharePoint Site Design & Configuration

  • Build and configure SharePoint Online sites, lists, libraries, pages, and templates.
  • Design intuitive and user‑friendly site layouts that enable efficient content discovery.
  • Develop no‑code/low‑code solutions using Power Apps, Power Automate, and out‑of‑box SharePoint capabilities.

3. Migration & Transformation

  • Support and contribute to the migration of sites, content, and workflows from SharePoint 2016/2019 to SharePoint Online.
  • Perform content audits, data cleansing, mapping, and restructuring ahead of migration activities.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure a smooth, well‑planned migration with minimal business disruption.

4. Business Analysis & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Conduct requirements workshops with business SMEs to understand content needs and collaboration use cases.
  • Translate requirements into functional specifications, site structures, workflows, and governance recommendations.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on SharePoint functionalities, best practices, and user adoption strategies.
  • Lead user demos, walkthroughs, and training sessions.

5. Operational Support & Continuous Improvement

  • Investigate, diagnose, and resolve SharePoint content and configuration issues.
  • Provide day‑to‑day support for SharePoint and related applications, ensuring SLA compliance.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, efficiency improvement, and enhanced user experience.
  • Work collaboratively with global IT teams and third‑party vendors to resolve escalations and implement enhancements.

Qualifications

Education / professional qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Background & Technical experience

  • Strong knowledge of SharePoint Online and SharePoint 2016/2019 (sites, lists, libraries, permissions, content types, metadata).
  • Working experience with:

Power Automate (flows, approvals, automation)

Power Apps (canvas or model‑driven apps)

SharePoint Designer (legacy), JSON formatting, page customisation

Information architecture and content governance

  • Understanding of SharePoint migration tools (ShareGate, Metalogix, etc.) is preferred.
  • Familiarity with CSOM/REST APIs/JSOM is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret business needs and design effective SharePoint solutions.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels and manage expectations.
  • Highly motivated, proactive, and capable of managing multiple tasks independently.

Company, product and market knowledge

  • Experience of working in a complex, multi-country professional services, financial services or BPO organisation with complex processing requirements
  • Multi-country experience and demonstrates an ability to work in a multi-cultural, talented, and demanding team environment.
  • Possess the skills and the personality to operate effectively in a very fast-paced complex global business with an in-depth knowledge of program management.
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and oral form, with staff members, customers, suppliers, and the management team with the ability to make decisions, act and get results.

Languages

  • Fully proficient spoken and written English, additional European languages will be an asset
