Senior Officer, First Line Risk

Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Officer as part of the Private Wealth team in Guernsey who'll be managing first-line defence risks and contributing to ad-hoc projects. It helps ensure compliance and protects against fraud, money laundering, terrorist financing, and reputational risks.

What You'll Do -

  • You’ll collaborate across teams - including the Mauritius GCD, Private Wealth, and Compliance - to support first-line risk management and policy development.
  • You’ll use sound judgment to identify and escalate risks, ensuring timely reporting and regulatory compliance.
  • You’ll assist with client onboarding, due diligence, and risk profiling in line with CRA and SERR frameworks.
  • You’ll coordinate and document committee meetings (ACE, AOC), track action points, and support board reporting.
  • You’ll contribute to team development, monitor compliance feedback, and help drive quality assurance and risk control improvements.

Qualifications

  • Ideally studying towards or holds a relevant qualification from a recognised professional body
  • Excellent awareness and understanding of local regulatory requirements.
  • Previous Client Facing, Risk and/or Compliance knowledge from a fiduciary environment.
  • Good technical knowledge on AML legislation.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Experience of using screening tools such as Worldcheck and Riskscreen.
  • Experience of interrogating and generating reporting from administration systems.
  • Prior experience with 5 Series would be beneficial, but training will be provided
