Job Description
Responsibilities:
- To comply with all internal policies and procedures
- Advisory to the business
- Participation in Compliance and Risk clinics / bite-size or similar awareness forums
- Monitor changes to the Jersey regulatory framework and AML / CFT / CFP Statutory Legislation, supporting the MLRO and MLCO with any relevant actions, in order to effect change within IQ-EQ Jersey
- Actively contribute to initiatives / projects to improve processes to drive operational excellence
- Provide technical support to the Risk and Compliance function where issues arise, investigate the root cause and propose suitable options for Compliance Directors consideration
- Supporting with the maintenance of Policies and Procedures, pivotal in drafting and related implementation activities such as mapping, circulation and Employee attestations
- Driving and exemplifying adherence to agreed Policies, Procedures and maintaining compliance with applicable Regulation, Laws, Rules, and Codes of Practice
- Ensure that risk management processes are considered and embedded in the culture, operations and controls used by Employees
- Ensure the Risk and Compliance function, and wider audiences, receive necessary training on new or changing initiatives or developments
- Although the role is not a Key Person role you may be required to deputise for a Key Person so will be expected to conduct reporting and control duties as appropriate i.e. when acting as deputy
- Devise and deliver a risk-based compliance monitoring programme (CMP) including maintenance of relevant test scripts, to monitor activities of the regulated entities of IQ-EQ Jersey and any regulated client structures ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory obligation (including but not limited to consistent adherence to internal policies and procedures)
- Assess, and recommend enhancements to, internal systems and controls as well as policies, and procedures to facilitate compliance with the regulatory framework; and where appropriate, promptly instigating action to remedy any deficiencies in the compliance arrangement
- Devise and deliver appropriate written reporting to boards, taking into account relevant data points, legal and regulatory obligations, identified trends and general overview emanating from the testing and progress on outstanding action points
- Create and deliver a market leading compliance monitoring programme (including thematic reviews) as a second line of defence function
- Oversea the implementation and success of the board approved CMP
- Assess, and recommend amendments to, internal systems and controls as well as policies, and procedures to facilitate compliance with the regulatory framework; and where appropriate, promptly instigating action to remedy any deficiencies in the compliance arrangement
- Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, clients’ regulatory bodies and other professional intermediaries and contacts to ensure that IQ-EQ Employees understand and are able to respond appropriately to developments as they arise
- Act as a role model through effective, positive leadership behaviours to engender an environment of teamwork and collaboration, across own function and across all jurisdictions, demonstrating drive, passion, positivity towards change, teamwork, and a clear focus and commitment in driving and achieving the Group’s vision and strategic goals
- Actively lead and perform in line with both local and Group requirements and initiatives
- Proactively participate in the promotion of a constructive "pro-compliance" culture at both local and Group level
- Manage team on a day-to-day basis to ensure achievement of business goals and team objectives
- Pro-actively manage own development, encompassing both technical and leadership requirements to a level appropriate to role that supports the IQ-EQ Values
- As a subject matter expert, actively participate with the implementation of changes designed to improve operational practices
- Use your own judgement to bring to the attention of (senior) management any issues which you feel appropriate, in particular ensuring that concerns and identified risks are reported in a timely and effective manner
- Ensure that risk management processes are embedded in the culture, operations and systems used by all IQ-EQ Jersey Employees, driving and exemplifying adherence to agreed policies, procedures and applicable Regulation, Laws, Rules, and Codes of Practice
- Assist with Data Collation requests (internal and external)
- Support with regulatory / intermediary / audits or similar visits or examinations upon request
- Management of junior members of the team, all aspects[i]
- Training colleagues as relevant (role specific)
- Record retention, storing / filing / scanning documentation as relevant to role
- Data remediation[ii]
- Fulfilment of Continuous Professional Development
- Additional adhoc tasks as delegated

Qualifications
- 5 years relevant risk and compliance experience within a regulated financial services business (Jersey)
- Prior experience of Private Wealth and Institutional / Funds clients
- Hold an ICA diploma qualification
- Relevant JFSC table 4 qualification
- Membership of relevant Professional Body
- Good understanding of the Jersey regulatory framework and AML / CFT / CFP Statutory Legislation
- Knowledge of client structures e.g., corporates, trusts, foundations, and associated risk factors such as PEPs / jurisdictions, sanctions
- Have a good understanding of the offshore finance Industry
- Ability to be flexible and work effectively as part of a Team, collaborates with peers
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines to meet deadlines
- Good analytical and numerical skills
- Good administrative skills
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Good organisational skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft packages including Excel, Outlook, and Word
