Senior Fund Accountant

Job Description

The ideal candidate must be a qualified accountant (CPA, ACCA, ACA, etc.) with at least four years of post-qualification experience in fund accounting, particularly in preparing financial statements. Strong technical expertise, client relationship skills, and experience managing a portfolio of open and closed-ended client funds are essential, while a background in a Big 4 audit firm is preferred but not required.

What you will do 

  • You’ll provide comprehensive fund administration services, including NAV calculations, financial statements, and transfer agency tasks.
  • You’ll support client leads across multiple fund engagements and industries, collaborating closely with your team to meet deadlines.
  • You’ll apply your understanding of fund agreements to financial reporting and perform detailed calculations like investor allocations and performance fees.
  • You’ll manage communications with clients and investors, prepare board meeting reports, and coordinate with auditors and tax teams during year-end processes.
  • You’ll handle daily client requests, contribute to process improvements, ensure regulatory compliance, and participate in system initiatives and special projects.

Qualifications

  • You hold a university degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field, along with a recognized accounting designation like CPA, ACCA, or CA.
  • You have at least four years of post-qualification experience in fund auditing or administration, with a strong focus on preparing financial statements.
  • You’re proficient in Microsoft Office and ideally have experience with accounting platforms like Paxus and Investran.
  • You bring excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong client relationships and work effectively across cultures.
  • You thrive in a collaborative environment, stay organized under pressure, and understand corporate governance, risk mitigation, and compliance best practices.
