Senior Fund Accountant

Job Description

The successful application must be a qualified accountant (CPA, ACCA, ACA, etc.) and possess at least 4 years' post qualified experience within funds, specifically in the preparation of financial statements. Alongside strong technical skills, the successful applicant will have a talent for developing client relationships and have experience of producing financial statements for a portfolio of client funds (both open and closed ended). It is also desirable to have a 'Big 4' audit background, but this is not essential.

  • Provide a full range of fund administration services to fund clients; including financial accounting, Net Asset Value (NAV) calculation, financial statement preparation and register transfer agency services.
  • Support IQEQ client leads on multiple fund engagements within various industries
  • Work closely with manager, team and support functions to manage client expectations and ensure adherence to timelines on client deliverables
  • Maintain a working understanding of limited partnership agreements/private placement memorandum and apply terms to financial reporting, income and expense allocations
  • Prepare and/or review journal entries, management fee calculations, investor allocations, capital account statements, capital call and distribution/subscriptions and redemptions calculations, sources/uses of cash, investor notices, carried interest/performance fee calculations and maintenance of waterfall models
  • Coordinate the delivery of capital call and distributions notices/subscriptions and redemptions contract notes to clients and investors
  • Prepare and/or review financial statements, notes disclosures, and supporting schedules
  • Prepare and present administrator reports for board meetings, as required
  • Manage year-end process and tend to requests from external auditors and tax teams
  • Handle daily/routine client and investor information requests and fulfill ad-hoc requests as needed
  • Assess operational effectiveness and make suggestions for process development
  • Oversee compliance responsibilities related to funds we administer (i.e. regulator filings, KYC documentation, etc.)
  • Participate in various systems initiatives, projects and other duties as assigned.

 


Qualifications

  • University Degree majoring in Accounting, Business or a related field.
  • Internationally recognized accounting designation (e.g., CA, ACCA, or CPA).
  • Must possess at least 4 years' post qualified experience in fund auditing or administration, specifically in the preparation of financial statements.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, prior experience using accounting software like Paxus & Investran are desirable.
  • Strong client relationship & interpersonal skill
  • Awareness and understanding of cross jurisdictional cultural differences
  • Knowledge of strong corporate governance practices and the understanding and experience of risk mitigation
  • Team oriented with the desire to thrive in a diverse, dynamic and collaborative environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines with strong organizational skills

Additional information

IQ-EQ offers an attractive remuneration package dependent on experience and qualifications in the range of USD $80,000 – USD $95,000.00 as well as statutory benefits.
