Job Description

THIS ROLE 

In this role you will be responsible for handling routine to complex depositary matters with minimal supervision. You will manage varied assignments (basic to complex and sensitive clients) independently while developing technical expertise and client relationship skills.

As a Client Accountant, you’re a detail-oriented team player with great organisational skills. Your responsibilities include day-to-day management of private equity or real estate clients, reviewing financial statements, ensuring accurate communication of cash movements, and overseeing the preparation and completion of client deliverables.

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO 

  • You will manage diverse depositary operations and ensure quality of own deliverables
  • You will prepare standard reports and execute compliance procedures
  • You will develop technical expertise and support client relationships
  • You will review complex transaction documents and perform detailed reconciliations
  • You will monitor fund activities and review ownership documentation
  • You will handle complex issues, coordinate with service providers and ensure regulatory compliance

    Qualifications

    ABOUT YOU: 

    • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A university degree in legal or economic studies is an advantage
    • You have 2 - 4 years’ experience in the area of depositary/custody function gained in a depositary bank or similar experience gained in audit or fund accounting role
    • You preferably have private Equity / Real Estate markets experience and fund accounting experience (desirable)
    • You have knowledge of the regulatory environment for depositaries
    • You preferably a University Degree in Finance or Accounting or other related course

     

    Skills and Key Behaviors:

    • You have proficiency in MS Office tools, especially Word and Excel, for reporting, reconciliation, and data management.
    • You have strong expertise in compliance execution, detailed reconciliations, and monitoring fund activities.
    • You have deep understanding of constitutional and legal documentation for PE/RE funds and investment structures.
    • You have excellent organizational and time-management skills to meet tight deadlines.
    • You have a strong problem-solving abilities for handling complex operational and compliance issues.
    • You have exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, for managing client relationships and coordinating with service providers.
    • You are proactive and ownership-driven, with a high sense of responsibility for deliverables.
    • You are detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and accuracy in all tasks.
    • You are collaborative and client-focused, demonstrating professionalism in sensitive client interactions and maintaining long-term relationships.
