Manager – P&P’s and Governance

Office: Jersey – Gaspé House

Department: Operations


  • Responsible for the administration and update of the Terms of Reference for the Policies and Procedures Committee, the Policies and Procedures Manual (PPM) and all associated operational tasks in relation thereto
  • Act as draftsperson where appropriate or reviewer in achieving PPM document review and change (policy, procedure, checklists, precents etc)
  • Responsible for the administration, oversight, governance, development and change process with regards to the regular and ad-hoc review, update and amendment of IQEQ Jersey’s suite of P&Ps; in partnership with the Company Secretaries of both IQEQ (Jersey) Limited and IQEQ Funds Services (Jersey) Limited, along with systems and controls for the IQEQ Jersey business, including implementation of the same across relevant outsourcing centres
  • Responsible for the administration and act as policies and procedures lead for the business, co-ordinate and represent at the Policies and Procedures Committee meetings
  • Data Protection Lead for IQEQ Jersey and Member of the Data Privacy Steward Group (DPSG) and participation and support with all matters within the remit of the DPSG
  • Provide KPI’s relating to scope of responsibility and ensure these are effectively managed, controlled and achieved and provide regular Operations Reports in respect of all areas of responsibility as required
  • Develop training for direct reports and wider IQ-EQ staff and outsourcing centre staff on core P&P and Data Protection matters
  • Developing robust governance policy and procedure frameworks to support IQEQ Jersey in meeting its regulatory obligations and business needs
  • Ensure that data protection and policy and procedure management processes are embedded in the culture, operations and systems used by all staff, driving and exemplifying adherence to agreed policies, procedures and applicable regulation
  • Actively collaborate with 3rd line functions such as the Compliance Monitoring Programme Team (CMPT), enabling evaluation of IQEQ Jersey’s operations ensuring they are conducted in compliance with regulatory, legal and internal governance obligations
  • Actively contribute to initiatives to improve processes, making recommendations for technological and data integrity enhancements to drive operational excellence
  • Enhance reporting tools and provide KPI’s relating to scope of responsibility, governance and data breaches and ensure these are effectively managed, controlled and achieved and provide regular Operational Reports/MI to IQEQ Jersey boards and IQEQ Group
  • Demonstrate commercial awareness, a good level of competitor and industry awareness and proactively participate in opportunities to increase revenue for IQEQ Jersey by being adaptable and resourceful
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, software providers, regulatory bodies, and other professional intermediaries


  • Drive and implement the regular review of IQEQ Jersey’s P&Ps
  • Manage and administer the governance and change process around updates and amendments to IQEQ Jersey’s P&Ps; including the consultation, approval and upload process
  • Responsible for management and implementation of any data protection related changes to terms of business, letters of engagement or fee schedules, including liaison with stakeholders and any communications to staff and any upload of new documents into the PPM in Sharepoint
  • Supporting the Company Secretary with the management of the IQ-EQ authorised signatory lists, along with ad-hoc day to day in house company tasks and governance matters
  • Proactively manage all aspects of any projects within scope of role, including communications, staff training, revenue considerations and preparation of policies and procedures or internal and external briefing updates as required
  • Pro-actively manage own development, encompassing both technical and leadership requirements to a level appropriate to role that supports the Group Values


  • In depth knowledge of regulated services providers’ governance, risk and operational control frameworks; particularly in relation to P&Ps.   
  • Excellent knowledge of offshore financial services and underlying product and service rationales and technologies
  • Professionally qualified and holder of a relevant qualification from a recognised professional body / Financial Institution
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development
  • Extensive experience within the offshore trust Industry
  • Corporate Governance experience and an understanding and experience of risk mitigation
  • Excellent leadership and management skills
  • Effective influencing skills and an ability to lead within own functional area
  • Evidence of role modelling effective skills as a team player and promoting teamwork and collaboration amongst others
  • Evidence of commitment to high standard of customer service based on understanding needs and delivering solutions
  • Experience of working closely with Regulators
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly effective listening skills and able to make and communicate rational judgments in a decisive manner
  • Developing knowledge and experience of successfully recruiting high calibre individuals to feed the talent pipeline for immediate needs and longer term needs of a business
