Manager, Fund Accounting

Job Description

THIS ROLE:

A leadership position responsible for driving operational excellence and team performance within the 
fund accounting department. This role manages a team of accounting professionals, oversees complex client relationships, and ensures delivery of high-quality accounting services. The position focuses on people management and operational efficiency while maintaining overall accountability for team performance and client satisfaction.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • You’ll lead, develop, and mentor a team of fund accounting professionals, driving performance, engagement, and continuous professional growth.
  • You’ll oversee operational performance and service delivery, ensuring high-quality outputs, adherence to client expectations, and achievement of key performance metrics.
  • You’ll build and manage strong client and cluster relationships, acting as a key stakeholder contact and ensuring exceptional service standards.
  • You’ll direct resource allocation, capacity planning, and workflow management to optimize team productivity and meet business objectives.
  • You’ll drive strategic initiatives, process improvements, technology adoption, regulatory compliance, and risk management to enhance operational efficiency and control.

Qualifications

ABOUT YOU: 

  • You are a CPA (or equivalent) with a degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, and at least 8 years of relevant experience in fund accounting, financial reporting, or a related field, including 1–2 years in a leadership role.
  • You have strong expertise in fund accounting processes, regulatory compliance, and risk management, with the ability to review and approve complex financial reports and client deliverables.
  • You are skilled in resource allocation, capacity planning, workload management, and leading strategic initiatives such as client onboarding, system implementations, and process optimization projects.
  • You have a proven track record of driving operational excellence through performance management, KPI monitoring, process improvements, technology adoption, change management, and effective resolution of escalated client issues.
  • You are a results-driven and adaptable leader with exceptional people management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills, capable of developing teams, fostering collaboration, and aligning operations with organizational goals and client expectations.
