THIS ROLE

A leadership position responsible for managing a team of 10-20 fund accounting professionals and driving operational excellence in asset owner solutions delivery. Reports to Associate Director/Director and has accountability for team performance, client satisfaction, and operational efficiency. Manages Accountant 1-3, Senior Accountant, and Associate Manager levels, providing technical guidance, setting performance objectives, and adapting departmental priorities to address resource and operational challenges. Makes decisions guided by policies, procedures, and business plans while receiving guidance from senior management on strategic direction.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Lead and develop a team of fund accounting professionals.
  • Drive operational performance and quality standards.
  • Build and manage cluster and client relationships and service delivery. 
  • Oversee resource allocation and capacity planning.
  • Adapt and execute strategic initiatives within team operations.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and risk management.
  • Establish and monitor team performance metrics.
  • Champion technology adoption and process optimization.
  • Sets employee performance objectives and conducts regular performance reviews and career development discussions.
  • Recommend pay actions, promotions, and hiring decisions.
  • Exercise management authority within established policies and procedures.
  • Receive guidance from Associate Director/Director on strategic priorities and resource allocation.
  • Make decisions guided by departmental business plans, policies, and procedures.
  • Manage team of approximately 10-20 professionals including Accountants 1 to Assistant Managers.

TASKS

  • Ensure service delivery expectations and client‑specific governance requirements are met through effective oversight of team outputs.
  • Serve as the senior point of contact for escalated client issues, manage client relationships, and lead discussions to clarify reporting requirements.
  • Conduct regular service delivery reviews and present operational performance updates to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and track team performance against SLAs, escalating risks where necessary.
  • Oversee workload distribution, resource allocation, and staff scheduling to ensure balanced coverage and timely delivery.
  • Review and approve time management records and monitor productivity through timesheet analysis.
  • Facilitate client review meetings and ensure clear communication of deliverables, timelines, and incident resolutions.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with internal teams to support service delivery and resolve operational dependencies.
  • Provide technical and operational input to support commercial activities, including feasibility assessments and operational reviews for proposals.
  • Lead change management initiatives within the team and support readiness for system updates and process enhancements.
  • Maintain operational resilience by ensuring procedures, checklists, and process flows are documented, current, and adhered to; oversee BCP readiness for the team.
  • Act as the designated escalation point for complex client challenges and perform other operational and leadership duties aligned with team management responsibilities.

Qualifications

ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in performance and analytics, fund accounting, financial reporting, or related field with at least 1-2 years leadership experience
  • Strong understanding of fund accounting processes, regulatory compliance, and risk management frameworks.
  • Proficient in reviewing and approving complex financial reports and client deliverables.
  • Skilled in resource allocation, capacity planning, and workload distribution to meet client deadlines and deliverables.
  • Experienced in leading client onboarding, system implementation, and optimization projects.
  • Adept at establishing and monitoring key performance metrics to drive team performance and operational efficiency.
  • Expert in driving operational excellence and process improvements.
  • Proficient in managing escalated client issues and fostering long-term client relationships.
  • Skilled in coordinating cross-departmental efforts to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Strong focus on change management and adoption of technology-driven solutions.
  • Effective leader with exceptional people management skills, including performance reviews, career development discussions, and team training.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster collaboration with clients, cluster partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Results-driven, proactive, and detail-oriented with a focus on operational efficiency and client satisfaction.
  • Adaptive and resourceful, ensuring team alignment with strategic objectives and organizational goals.
