Loan Settlements Analyst

Job Description

  • Loan Documentation:
    • Review loan closing documents (confirms/ transfer certs and funding memos) for accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
    • Ensure all necessary documentation is reviewed for errors, missing or incorrect information and fixed before the execution date.
    • Organize and maintain loan files, ensuring all documentation is filed correctly and promptly.
  • Communication and Coordination:
    • Communicate with Clients, Counterparties and Agents to gather necessary information and resolve any discrepancies that arise during the closing process
    • Provide status updates to relevant parties throughout the closing process and maintain and prepare a status report.
  • Compliance and Quality Control:
    • Verify that all loan conditions and stipulations are satisfied prior to closing.
    • Ensure client elections on AA and Loan Transfer Certificates are populated in line with requirements
    • Conduct quality control reviews of closing documents to identify and correct errors in time before execution.
  • Customer Service:
    • Provide excellent customer service to clients by addressing their questions and concerns promptly and professionally.
    • Assist clients with understanding the loan closing process and requirements.
    • Facilitate smooth and efficient loan closings, ensuring a positive experience for clients.
  • Administrative Support:
    • Assist with administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and document management.
    • Support Senior Settlement Analysts and the Client Managers with special projects and tasks as needed.
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of loan products, services, and industry trends

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, or a relevant field of study
  • 2+ years’ experience in general investment operations, ideally in a middle office or other transaction-facing role
  • Knowledge of financial data providers such as Bloomberg and ClearPar desirable, but not essential
  • General understanding of trade lifecycle and LMA settlements
  • Knowledge of credit investments, particularly bank loans
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task, and oversee a high volume of work
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to quickly grasp key concepts
