Intern – Private Wealth

Job Description

This role is an hourly position ($24/hour) and requires the ability to work onsite at our Rapid City, South Dakota location.

What you’ll do

  • You'll support the Trust Accounting department by handling asset set-up, cash postings, monthly fee processing, audits, and ad-hoc projects.
  • You'll perform month-end reconciliations of trust accounting systems, ensuring accuracy across diverse assets like equities, loans, real estate, and private businesses.
  • You'll research and execute trustee duties within complex Trust structures, collaborating with Trust Accounting Analysts to analyze transactions.
  • You'll resolve intricate scenarios that arise within Trust structures, applying problem-solving skills to maintain compliance and accuracy.
  • You'll assist Trust Officers with client relationship management (CRM) systems, strengthening client service and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

  • You must be a current Junior or Senior in college, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business with a focus on Accounting or Finance.
  • You should have a genuine interest in fiduciary accounting and the trust industry.
  • You need strong computer and Excel skills, along with the drive to master trust accounting systems.
  • You will rely on strong communication and organizational skills to manage multiple projects effectively.
  • You are expected to demonstrate high attention to detail, be a self-starter, and handle ambiguity while solving problems and setting priorities.
