We have an exciting opportunity for a seasoned HR professional based in Sydney as an individual contributor, reporting into the Regional HR Lead, Asia with matrix reporting to Country Leadership. To be successful in this pacey environment you will need to be a self-starter, proactive with a high level of resilience.

 

The HR Business Partner will support the execution of the people agenda by implementing HR strategies that align with business needs. This role will contribute to developing and delivering HR initiatives across various aspects of employment, leveraging knowledge of HR best practices and internal policies. The individual will work independently, applying problem-solving skills and industry insights to address complex challenges, while also guiding small project teams and collaborating with line managers to enhance employee experience and business outcomes.

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Tasks

  • Drive HR initiatives by collaborating closely with Regional HR Lead, Asia and collaborate with other HR colleagues internationally to ensure alignment, seamless implementation and consistency
  • Deliver a coherent and seamless talent management plan
  • Support Managers by providing guidance on HR-related matters, helping them navigate people processes and policies.
  • Act as liaison between the business and HR services ensuring smooth coordination and implementation of HR initiatives
  • Work with Managers to drive the execution of employee transactions including transferees and terminations
  • Advise and consult with line managers to ensure understanding of HR policies, procedures and benefit plans
  • Manage the gathering and accuracy of employee information on HRIS to support the needs of the business whilst providing sufficient access to all necessary data and reports
  • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees with regards to annual programs such as irregular processes such as end of probation, performance management, or development
  • Support and execute the implementation of global reward and recognition mechanisms.  Help managers reward and recognize good performance.
  • Engage and liaise with HR colleagues and specialists to address and resolve HR related issues

Educational Background:

Degree level education in social science preferred and/or Relevant professional qualification

  • Minimum of 7 Years HR Generalist/HR Business Partner Experience in an international environment.
  • Tertiary qualifications in HR or related discipline.

Professional Experience:

  • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience, 4 years of which are in fund accounting, financial reporting, or audit, with a focus on complex portfolios and advanced accounting modules
  • Proven track record of serving as a subject matter expert in technical accounting and driving process innovation

Skills and knowledge demonstration

  • Strong understanding and application of employment legislations, including Modern Awards, Fair Work Act, NES, visas etc.
  • Confident in navigating ER/IR matters.
  • Successful at cultivating strong relationships with key stakeholders and creating partnerships at all levels.
  • Natural communicator with a passion for sharing information.
  • Demonstrated experience in driving people engagement initiatives.
  • Ideally a background within a global, matrix organisation, ideally within financial or professional services.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to practical solutions and effectively support business areas and management levels through guidance and collaboration.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to motivate and influence the work of others that do not report directly.
  • Working knowledge of implementing policies and procedures.
