Reports to: Managing Director, Jersey

Responsibilities:

The person in this role is the ultimate owner of all aspects of delivery by the Private Wealth Teams in Jersey, leading and managing the teams in the delivery of their services. In addition to responsibility for ensuring that the team meet all deliverables, the successful applicant will ensure effective engagement and collaboration with other key stakeholders/ functions within the firm.

  • Provide overall leadership for the Private Wealth business in Jersey whilst also managing, building, and developing partnerships with new and existing clients and intermediaries.
  • Be a key member of the leadership team for the Jersey cluster, working collaboratively with the Managing Director, Regional Commercial Officer (RCO), Head of Funds, Senior HR Business Partner, Head of Finance and Head of Risk and Compliance
  • Have overall responsibility for achieving the organic revenue growth targets each year, managing costs, and managing the performance and productivity of our people.

Tasks:

  • Take full ownership for all Private Wealth (PW) activities in Jersey, attending the IQEQ (Jersey) Limited board meetings, representing Jersey PW at all Group fora, as well as fostering a strong relationship with the regulator (JFSC) as required.
  • Monitoring of financial performance against budget and agreed objectives, fully investigating, and managing any variances.
  • Lead and develop a team of Client Service Directors, each of whom have responsibility themselves for managing a team of financial service professionals in the delivery of professional services to our clients.
  • Working with the Regional Chief Commercial Officer, support the Client Relationship Directors in both managing new business opportunities, including RFP’s and the Jersey onboarding of new clients
  • Take ownership of the relationship with offshore teams providing PW support and drive performance through feedback at the monthly Contract Review Boards meetings.
  • Ensure effective collaboration between the Client Service Directors to ensure a consistency of excellence across the team as they deliver to clients.
  • Work with other key stakeholders within the firm to ensure alignment of the Client Services team with the overall mission and objectives of IQ-EQ
  • Managing the overall performance of the delivery teams, coaching, and developing all employees in such a way that they remain within the business, on the basis of continual development and training, with uplifting career prospects.
  • Creating and maintaining an environment of trust and collaboration within the workforce ensuring people have clear goals, receive clear behavioural feedback, and are held accountable for their behaviour and contribution.
  • Acting as Global Client Relationship Manager or Executive Sponsor on key client relationships, ensuring first class service delivery, identifying new business opportunities, delivering an increased range of services and solutions, driving revenue growth
  • Attendance and presentation at Jersey Risk and Compliance and Operating Committees, Group Risk fora, Monthly and Quarterly Business Review meetings and ad hoc meetings with the Group management Board as required.
  • Working with the RCCO and other members of the senior management team to deliver pitches and proposals to existing and potential clients for new business.
  • Providing thought leadership (to promote the various aspects of the IQ-EQ Jersey offering) through presentations and articles.
  • Providing technical knowledge and expertise to clients and the leadership team alike
  • Managing relationships with the JFSC, Law firms, Accounting, and professional service firms as appropriate
  • Ensure the implementation of, and consistent application of a standard operating model across the respective teams.
  • Work with the Client Service Directors to understand our agreed service level agreements and appropriately deploy resources to maintain a high standard of a delivery and in line with clearly defined profitability margins.
  • Support and develop the skills of the Client Service Directors and managers in establishing effective client relationships and interactions.
  • Support growth of the business by collaborating closely with the Sales and Implementation teams to understand the pipeline of new business and ensuring resources are aligned and planned to successfully onboard new business.
  • Collaborate with Finance to ensure Budget elements are managed and maintained and all elements of financial governance are completed.
  • Collaborate with support functions (IT, HR) to create a work environment and culture in which the team can thrive and succeed.

Qualifications

Background experience:

  • Experience leading large teams and functions in the Financial Services Industry. Substantial professional experience in a Financial Services Environment, out of which at least 10 years in a senior and/or management role. An entrepreneurial approach to business with first class strategic and business acumen

Computer/program knowledge:

  • Microsoft Office skills with focus on Excel skills

Company, product, and market knowledge:

  • Knowledge of the private equity industry is desirable but not essential. Ability to contribute to strategic discussions for the Jersey company’s future (linked to the global, long-term vision).

Management and leadership:

  • At least 10 years’ experience of working in a Leadership role.

Languages:

  • Fluent in English

Qualifications:

  • Must hold a relevant ‘Table 4’ qualification
