Financial Reporting Manager

Job Description

Responsibilities 

  • Preparation of monthly management reporting for review by the CFO and senior members of the Group Finance team.
  • Oversight of the monthly results close and preparation of narratives to support variances through liaison with subsidiary entities.
  • Liaison with subsidiary finance teams to understand trading performance and explain material variances to budgets.
  • Assist the tracking and governance of one-off spend and in the preparation of cash flow forecasts.
  • Preparation of tables to support the Group’s quality of earnings.
  • Enhance financial reporting processes and improve the quality of presentation of data.
  • Preparation of responses to queries (for example lender questions) and other ad-hoc reporting
  • Support the team in mapping newly acquired entities into the Group’s Consolidation approach, loading up historic information to produce consistent analysis for the combined group.

Tasks 

  • Preparation of monthly, quarterly and ad-hoc financial reporting information for the Group Management Board, Group Supervisory Board, Senior Leadership Team, external lenders, and other stakeholders including insightful analysis and explanations for variances to budget and/or forecast
  • Manage the Group’s monthly closing process in accordance with set deadlines, liaising with subsidiary finance teams to answer queries and to understand trading performance
  • Review the monthly upload and reconciliation of subsidiary reporting packs, and mapping into the Group chart of accounts
  • Ensure the Group consolidation controls are monitored through the monthly reporting process
  • Help to drive best practice financial reporting by leveraging the Group’s Data Warehouse and PowerBI to create dashboards and other visualisation tools to reveal insights and to bring the financial performance data to life
  • Identify and embed process improvements and automation opportunities in the reporting cycle to drive operational efficiency
  • Collaborate with the jurisdictional Financial Controllers to drive best practice financial reporting, leveraging the Group’s financial reporting tools and contribute to the successful planning and execution of a various Group Finance projects
  • Support the process of recharging the costs of central support functions to entities across the Group.
  • Preparation of schedules and analysis to support the Group cash flow paper.

Qualifications

Education / professional qualifications

Qualified accountant with a recognised body (ACA or ACCA)

Background experience

Experience in management reporting and development of dashboards for ease of data consumption.

Experience of working in a multi-jurisdictional Group or of working with multi-jurisdictional clients would be an advantage.

Strong understanding of what a good financial control environment looks like

Organised and driven to ensure that tight deadlines are met.

Technical:

Computer / program knowledge

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of PowerBI advantageous.

Experience of using the Sun accounting system would be an advantage.

Company, product and market knowledge

Knowledge and experience of the investor services industry is valuable.
