FATCA/CRS Officer- Curacao

Job Description

Reporting to the Head of Delivery, this role will be responsible for the relationship with our internal customers in the US & Caribbean Region. You will support and assist the US and Caribbean offices with FATCA/CRS queries, due diligence and reporting needs whilst working closely with the FATCA/CRS principal to ensure that approach and requirements are as aligned as they can be over the Group. 

Responsibilities of this role will include developing strong relationships and being the “go to” person to assist with answering regional queries in relation to AEOI matters. You will function as the local Business Implementation Manager to look to improve the entire reporting and documentation process for our clients. 

Day to day:

  • Working with the Head of Delivery & relevant stakeholders to respond to all ad-hoc queries in relation to AEOI matters
  • Perform FATCA and CRS due diligence reviews which includes collecting and reviewing all relevant information for the clients impacted by FATCA and CRS and managing the FATCA and CRS workflow. Classify legal entities, prepare the FATCA and CRS documentation, and perform enrolments with the IRS and Local AEOI Portals where needed.
  • Prepare & submit the reports as per the FATCA and CRS requirements.
  • Preparation of FATCA & CRS Policies and Procedures
  • Building and maintaining strong, long-lasting relationships with the teams in the US, Caribbean offices and Shared Services (FATCA & CRS teams)
  • Ensuring that client onboarding is compliant and completed in good time meeting all expectations in relation to FATCA & CRS
  • Clearly communicate progress of initiatives to key stakeholders focusing on ensuring that each office has good, robust procedures, on-boarding processes, documentation, data extraction and reporting practices in good shape
  • Ensure timely and successful annual reporting and necessary regulatory filings take place
  • Forecast and track key metrics for the Region (e.g., volumes of reporting, costs vs forecasts for AEOI work, ensuring costs are within market expectations and passed on to clients)
  • Collaborate with Regional sales team to identify and grow opportunities within territory.

Qualifications

  • University Degree in Business, Tax or any other relevant field or equivalent professional qualification
  • 2+ years of proven practical experience in FATCA and CRS Due Diligence and Reporting;
  • Self-starter, able to work independently and as part of multicultural teams across various time zones
  • Ability to work across functional and geographic lines;
  • Good organizational skills with an emphasis on time management
  • Evidence of strong relationship building & communication skills to present and influence key stakeholders at all levels of an organization, including executive
  • Experience delivering client-focused solutions to customer needs
  • Proven ability to juggle multiple  projects at a time with strong attention-to-detail to ensure that all deliverables consistently meet the highest standard of quality and accuracy
  • Very strong IT skills especially with excel and in terms of .xml reporting
  • Excellent level of English (verbal/written); any other language will be considered as an advantage
