Job Description

Responsibilities (how we will measure success)

  • The principal is appointed to keep the holistic overview of the client dossiers, allocated to him/her, from a legal, financial and compliance perspective.
  • The principal acts as the ultimate gatekeeper of client quality in the firm.
  • The principal is the expert avant la lettre within the delivery organisation of IQ EQ, for content questions and advice on client work or on structures.

Tasks (what does the role do on a day-to-day basis)

  • Responsible for the quality control in the delivery domain while actively promoting empowerment and entrepreneurialism.
  • Coaching of young employees to further their careers, as quickly as possible within their abilities (this is critical to growing the company).
  • Together with the Heads of Delivery (HoD) appraise the people in the domain with whom the principal has worked with, trained or coached.
  • Ensure the network with other domains, farming teams and PDC work effectively.
  • The Principal is highly flexible and versatile and is deployed there where his/her skills, experience and competencies are best applied. The Principal plans his/her assignment together with the Country Delivery Director (CDD).
  • Principals are expected to do complex and premium value work themselves, thus generating as much as possible value for the firm. However, the Principals are also expected to have a keen eye for delegating tasks to more junior staff thus further increasing the margin leverage of their involvement. In delegating, the Principals have an opportunity to train and develop other staff. The training of such staff will always be part of a plan agreed upfront with the appropriate HoD’s.
  • Works closely and communicate intensely, yet efficiently, with clients on matters related to the role of keeping a holistic overview of the client dossier.
  • Ensure that methodologies, standards, new regulations, curricula, as provided by the functional heads (which shall be appointed in June 2017), are applied and rolled out within the delivery teams.
  • Compliance with methodologies and standards as set by the functional heads as well as compliance with IQ EQ’s compliance manual, IQ EQ’s compliance departments, and the local regulatory framework.
  • Compliance, risk policies and protocols are adhered to for all client work and deficiencies are repaired and/or escalated without delay.

Qualifications

  • 5 years demonstrable experience in a similar position ideally within a Depositary role or the Financial Services industry. Experience of CRM, audit, risk management and senior leadership
  • Knowledge of AIFMD is mandatory specifically AIFM Directive law and regulations Knowledge of risk management methodologies within Financial Services is desirable
  • Proven alternative funds’ experience, including private equity, real estate, infrastructure, debt fund and asset classes is desirable
  • Fluent in English (French or German is an advantage)
