Job Description

Responsibilities

The Data Manager is responsible for leading a team of data analysts, managing the end-to-end process of data extraction/collection to final output (e.g. Excel, Tableau etc). They will maintain procedures and controls around the data workstream to ensure maximum efficiency. They will utilize technology e.g. web forms, unstructured data extraction tools and other tools, liaise with clients to develop their product, and actively seek to become an SME in this area.

 

Tasks

  • Manage and lead a team of data analysts
  • Establish and enhance the data product offerings for clients in the areas of ESG, public equities, direct portfolio companies etc
  • Create and maintain procedures and controls around the data workstream and end-to-end process to ensure maximum efficiency
  • Further establish and lead the data team function within AOS, with the collaboration of the DevOps and Client Services where needed
  • Manage and further enhance the end-to-end process of data collection/extraction to final delivery/output
  • Seek to improve efficiency and processes where needed, utilising technology solutions to reduce manual process / human error
  • Perform the development, maintenance, and internal testing of client dashboard (complex and non-complex)
  • Support the product development team by implementing new features to the standardisation dashboard, as and when needed
  • Transfer pilot data onto portfolio monitoring platform for prospective client demonstrations, identifying the visuals based on the type of data set
  • Define, execute, and interpret SQL queries from IQEQ on premise database or data warehouse (e.g. Snowflake)
  • Support Client Services and other stakeholders
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and troubleshoot dashboard issues and develop appropriate solutions
  • Identify new dashboard features, seek improvement and efficiencies in existing client workbook and process
  • Lead/support/attend client meetings to understand detailed project requirements, understand business problems and provide recommendations
  • Communicate project status updates and provide recommendations
  • Follow Definition of Done and process around Azure DevOps
  • Conduct demo and/or Cosmos admin training
  • Provide buddy system with other developers

Qualifications

Required Experience

  • Must have knowledge in VBA, Python, Private Equity/Investor services industry
  • Degree in mathematics, computer science, information systems, engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in developing, maintaining, and managing Tableau driven dashboards and analytics, working knowledge of Tableau administration/architecture, and complex data sets
  • Strong knowledge/proficiency in MS SQL / Data Warehouse – joins, unions, group by etc
  • Advanced knowledge in data storytelling and visualization best practices
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Ability to research and troubleshoot technical problems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in managing and leading a team
  • Knowledge in data extraction tools e.g. web forms, unstructured data extraction tools
