Compliance Officer AIFM

Job Description

The Compliance Officer will be working in a dynamic environment under the supervision of the Conducting Officer in charge of the Compliance Function.

In this role, you will be in charge of providing support to the Conducting Officer on a variety of compliance topics, not only covering AML and KYC matters but also compliance with CSSF obligations and reporting, compliance controls, etc.

In practice, you will for example:

  • Perform anti-money laundering controls such as daily namescreening or other types of second line of Defense Controls
  • Implement compliance processes, policies and guidelines and promote awareness of regulatory principles and requirements on a day-to-day basis
  • Perform the oversight of functions delegated by the Company
  • Support in the drafting of procedures and guidelines for the implementation of the Compliance policies
  • Perform regular review of KYC data of the AIFM relationships
  • Support the completion of the Compliance Monitoring Programme (e.g. perform sample testing on transactions, etc.)
  • Maintain Compliance registers and logs (e.g. CSSF communication or conflicts of interests)
  • Escalate significant deficiencies and issues to Management
  • Ensure all tasks performed are properly documented and formalised
  • Perform and monitor all CSSF notifications in e-Desk
  • Support the Chief Compliance Officer in ad-hoc requests received from various stakeholders

You’ll need to be thorough in all you do, using your own judgment to highlight any findings and escalate if rules and regulations are breached. Attention to detail is a must have as you'll be responsible for producing timely and accurate compliance and AML control reports for the AIFM. You’ll need to ensure we comply and meet our KYC obligations as you organize and conduct KYC screening and reporting, safeguarding us from potential risks. You will support and assist in any request coming from the internal and external auditor of the AIFM from a compliance point of view. Good governance and formalization practices are of utmost importance in this position.

Qualifications

  • Master/Bachelor in Law/Finance or an equivalent degree
  • 1-3 years professional experience in a Compliance related function in an AIFM or in a Big4
  • Good knowledge on AIFM legislation and CSSF Circular 18/698
  • Deep knowledge on Luxembourg AML and AIF Compliance laws
  • Profound understanding of oversight duties and governance
  • Knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel
  • Fluent in English; additional language would be considered an asset
