Business Process Engineer

Job Description

The Business Process Engineer should support the innovation in the operations processes by understanding emerging technologies, spotting for opportunities on how it can solve existing business challenges, and execute development / engineering to realize said opportunities.

Responsibilities (how we will measure success)

  • Business Requirements Analysis
    • Have a good orientation of the processes involved and spot for opportunities where technology can be leveraged
    • Elicit business requirements and validate understanding to align with business needs
    • Develop the needed documentation to express these requirements

 

  • Solution Engineering and Delivery
    • Recommend technology or process improvement solution candidates to solve an identified business problem
    • Participate in technical solutioning and design for low to mid-complex use cases, taking into consideration the available tooling, busines requirements, urgency, and other provisions for future and unexpressed requirements. Align with senior BPEs on implementation consideration for complex use cases.
    • Develop, and/or configure solution platforms (automation, low-code / no-code technology, dashboards, etc.) in place to deliver benefits to the organisation
    • Perform Quality Assurance on solution components developed
    • Support deployment of solutions to development, test, and production environments
    • Liase with different stakeholder groups to ensure that the solutions will be deployed correctly, other risks are considered, and have mitigations in place
    • Develop and maintain the necessary documentation for the solutions deployed
    • Support technology implementation of both in-house and/or external projects

 

  • R&D & Technology Thought Leadership
    • Keep oneself up to date by researching emerging platforms to identify possible opportunities where it can be applied
    • Participate on retrospective review sessions, execute possible refactoring activities
    • Ensure continuous update on already deployed technologies and explore new features that could be taken advantage of when applicable
    • Support technology awareness campaigns, facilitation of related training, and ideation sessions through design thinking
    • Participate on other analysis / insighting activities aimed at continuous improvement

Qualifications

Education / professional qualifications

  • Degree in Information Technology, Industrial Engineering, Business, or Finance & Accounting related courses

Background experience

  • At least 2 years of proven track record on Technology Implementation, Business Process Improvement, and/or Change Management

Technical

  • Software Engineering, Platform Configuration, Automation Scripting, and Reports Development
  • Experience with working in a core system production environment with a profound understanding of risks and proper management of client information
  • Solution deployment to different environments
  • Software Testing
  • Design Thinking
  • Technology Implementation through both Waterfall and Agile Delivery Models

Computer/program knowledge

Technology awareness on below platforms:

  • Low-code / no-code workflow management (e.g. Creation, Outsystems, etc.)
  • Nice to have: Reporting (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau, etc.). Business process automation (RPA)
