Associate Director – Private Equity Accounting (Real Estate Funds)

Job Description

This position will be working as a dedicated resource to one of our premiere clients, 4 days in office in New York City.

This role’s main function will be to manage the clients relationship with the appointed Fund Administrator (FA) and to act as the liaison between the FA and the client’s departments, specifically Finance, Investment Team and Investor Relations. 

You will be responsible for ensuring the FA is providing outstanding services for complex fund structures and reporting requirements and meeting all Service Level Agreements and contract terms.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage FA to deliver the administration of any services pursuant to administration agreements in respect of existing and new funds
  • Oversight of calculations of net asset values (NAV) on a variety of complex funds
  • Ensure NAV calculations, financial statements, and associated reports, are delivered by agreed deadlines
  • Review work performed by the FA and conduct any required shadow accounting
  • Work with FA and Safanad departments to manage timelines, workflows, and deliverables within agreed SLAs
  • Monitor timely delivery of daily, weekly, and monthly deliverables for investor reporting and Safanad internal reporting requirements
  • Escalate all material issues effecting the NAV process to the CFO in a timely manner
  • Develop and maintain relationships with investors, investment advisors/managers, banks, brokers and auditors and other key fund stakeholders
  • Be the first escalation point for queries
  • Support the CFO with Year End process with respect to audit timelines, Financial Statement Preparation, Regulatory filings, Tax services etc.
  • Be involved in special projects as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and/or Finance, relevant qualification
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Financial Services within a fund administration environment and/or investment management / private equity
  • Supervisory skills with experience in managing and/or leading staff
  • Strong business acumen and assertiveness
  • Strong financial, accounting, and analytical skills
  • Excellent client / business relationship management
  • Strong communication / interpersonal skills and excellent presentation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
     

Additional information

Salary based on experience and location ($135,000-$170,000) and full benefits package offered.
