Assistant Manager, Funds & Institutional

Job Description

Come and join our Funds & Institutional team in our Jersey office and you will benefit from our hybrid working policy, employee referral scheme and collaborative and supportive environment. In this role you will have ownership of a varied and complex client portfolio, whilst having an impact on the business by improving processes and driving operational excellence.

What you'll do -

  • Support the team in fostering both a client service mentality and strong business development culture at all levels by personally demonstrating the cultural values of the business
  • Ensure appropriate allocation of clients within the team and ensure clear cover in place in connection with absences
  • To provide support to junior staff within the team, the Manager, Senior Manager, the Client Services Director and senior management of the business
  • Support your Manager in ensuring that all business KPI’s for your Client Portfolio are effectively managed, controlled achieved in accordance with our ongoing business requirements
  • Help the team to meet their commercial objectives and targets through the effective capital management of the P&L for the Client Portfolio to include revenue targets, billable utilization rates for staff, recoverability on fixed fee clients and pro-active management of debtor days and cash collections
  • Support the development of strong relationships with intermediaries linked to existing client book in order to generate new business
  • Support the business with impact/risk assessment, in terms of constant changes in local and international regulatory and legislative requirements.
  • Responsible for developing the team, supporting their career aspirations and acting as a mentor and coach
  • Deputise in the absence of your Manager, when required
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, service standards, company policies and procedures and agreed operational and control processes
  • Using your own judgement to bring to the attention of management any issues which you feel appropriate, in particular ensuring that concerns and identified risks are reported in a timely and effective manner
  • Keep abreast of processes to manage risks inherent within your own Portfolio, managing changes to the process where necessary, ensuring process is being actively followed by team members. Take action to deal with risks wherever necessary, ensuring referral to senior management on all risk matters.

Qualifications

  • CGI or STEP Diploma qualified or other relevant professional qualification
  • Good understanding of the relevant laws relating to ‘Fund Services Business’.
  • Good understanding of industry best practice in relation to Fund and Company administration
  • Ability to understand fund and company legal documents
  • Resilient and able to work under pressure and within tight deadlines
  • Risk aware and demonstrates high levels of integrity, equality and diversity in their approach to work
  • Sound understanding of industry best practice in relation to fund and Company administration.
