AIFM Head of Risk Management, Conducting Officer

Job Description

The Conducting Officer is a member of the senior management of the Luxembourg third party AIFM servicing funds with the following investment strategies: Private Equity, Real Estate, Infrastructure, Debt, Fund of funds.

The Conducting Officer is responsible for the effective day‑to‑day management, oversight and control of the AIFM’s regulated activities, in accordance with AIFMD, applicable CSSF regulations, and internal governance arrangements.

The role includes specific responsibility for regulatory oversight, operational governance and contributes to the sound and prudent management of the AIFM. The Conducting Officer will be in charge of the IT function for the AIFM and act as a key contact point for the CSSF.

You will act as a key leader within the governance and senior management framework.

What you'll do

 

  • You'll ensure full AIFM governance and regulatory compliance, maintaining alignment with AIFMD, Luxembourg laws, CSSF requirements, and EU frameworks while overseeing governance structures, escalation procedures, board reporting, and senior-level regulatory interactions.
  • You'll strengthen the AIFM’s risk and internal control framework, implementing risk management across the fund lifecycle, performing investment compliance checks, defining risk profiles, conducting pre‑deal and divestment analyses, monitoring all risk types, calculating AuM and leverage, and ensuring accurate, timely regulatory reporting.
  • You'll oversee ESG and SFDR compliance, ensuring robust ESG framework implementation, managing pre‑contractual/periodic/website disclosures, ensuring alignment between strategy and ESG commitments, coordinating data/documentation with internal and external stakeholders, and monitoring sustainable finance regulatory developments.
  • You'll manage ICT risk and DORA readiness, overseeing ICT risk frameworks, supervising incident management, business continuity, disaster recovery, and third‑party ICT providers, while ensuring ongoing compliance with DORA requirements in coordination with IT, risk, compliance, and external partners.
  • You'll report key risks at senior levels, ensuring timely escalation of material ICT, regulatory, operational, and ESG‑related risks to senior management and the Board, while promoting a strong risk culture across the AIFM.

Qualifications

  • You bring 8–10+ years of risk and asset management experience across private equity, real estate, debt, infrastructure, and venture capital, ideally gained within a Luxembourg AIFM or ManCo.
  • You are CSSF‑approved, having previously held a Conducting Officer mandate or another regulator‑approved senior management position in a Luxembourg‑regulated environment.
  • You hold a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • You possess strong technical expertise, including deep knowledge of AIFMD and Luxembourg regulatory requirements, ESG/SFDR implementation, operational and ICT risk (including DORA), with UCITS experience considered an asset.
  • You are fluent in English, with French or another EU language viewed as a strong advantage.
