Accounts Payable Manager

Job Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Management

  • Maintain and enforce a documented system of controls and procedures
  • Manage the day to day running of the accounts payable team
  • Assist in the development and implementation of automated processes within our NetSuite system to build a more efficient and accurate accounting function including invoice processing, vendor payments, revaluations etc.
  • Responsible for the on-going professional development of the team
  • Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders (for example country FC/FDs, Bank relationship managers, key vendors, etc.)
  • Managing key dependencies and competing deadlines to ensure that the team meets all of it’s deliverables

Transactions

  • Ensure all accounting activity is recorded in a timely manner (for example AP, AR, FX, regular Bank & balance sheet reconciliations)
  • Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
  • Maintain a system of controls over approvals of expense invoices
  • Identify global/ group purchasing opportunities to minimise vendor list and maximise cost savings
  • Ensure all transactional data is of the highest quality, aiding meaningful analysis.

Reporting

  • Provide input to reporting of monthly results as required;
  • Preparation of weekly cash flash reports for the FC, and maintenance of ongoing cash forecasting
  • Development of system generated reporting to monitor team KPIs (such as number of invoices pending payments).
  • Provide other ad-hoc financial analyses as required

Compliance

  • Assist with the coordination of legal entity audits including timing, liaison with Audit Managers & provision of information to support the audit
  • Manage cashflow, appointment of bank signatories and ensure compliance with bank covenants
  • Comply with all relevant reporting requirements

Qualifications

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Education and Qualifications:

  • Degree of Bachelor of Science in Accountancy, Financial Accounting or Management Accounting.
  • CPA (or equivalent) qualified accountant (Highly desirable)

Work Experience:

  • 7+ years of progressively responsible experience within a finance team
  • Experience of motivating and managing a team in a challenging, fast paced environment
  • Cash flow management experience over multiple location/platforms/currencies
  • System development experience would be highly advantageous
  • Experience in a multi-jurisdictional environment and managing FX exposure
  • Exposure in a shared service or BPO environment would be an advantage
  • Experience of driving projects for operational efficiency and excellence

Other Skills and Experience:

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong MS excel skills and proficiency in other Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines both for yourself, and the Fin Ops team
  • Ability to Build strong working relationships with stakeholders (internal and external)
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion in all areas
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
