Oversight of fund administrator

As the largest OCFO provider in the U.S., we reconcile thousands of NAVs for hundreds of managers across all major fund administrators.

Our team ensures the fund administrator:

  • Accurately captures capital calls and distributions
  • Allocates shared expenses accurately between entities
  • Valuations meet industry best practices
  • Fee and waterfall calculations which are in line with terms outlined in the fund offering documents
  • The Net Asset Value (NAV) is wholistically accurate to the most granular level (fund/investor/series/etc.)

Our NAV services for actively traded structures work seamlessly with our Middle Office Services offering – ensuring security level profit and loss detail and non-trading accruals are accurately captured in your internal shadow book of records.

Controllership of the management company and GP

Alternative investment advisors have the same responsibilities as many small businesses, such as bill pay, payroll, cash flow management, budgeting and rent. Your OCFO team will oversee these functions, ensuring the financial goals of your company are clearly articulated and effectuated.

Our management of the general ledger system is tailored to a manager’s needs, but generally consists of the below:

  • Maintaining the books and records, including a record of amounts due to and from other entities including subsidiaries, advisory entities, and portfolio companies
  • Recording and classifying, as directed by management, any accruals related to bonuses, tax withholding or expenses, employee expenses and payroll
  • Reconciling bank and credit card transactions posted in the books and records to statements provided by financial institutions
  • Directly receiving and processing vendor invoices
  • Recording and classifying income (management fees, incentive fees, and/or investment carry) related to each source of fee generation
  • Supporting the execution of internal controls for cash movements

Financial reporting

  • Prepare annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Audit support assistance – review financial statements, disclaimers, footnotes and support managers for Cayman board acceptance
  • Prepare consolidation reporting across related parties
  • Tax filing support, ensuring an accurate and timely filing
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements for internal use
  • Collaborate and maintain internal budgets and cash flow projections
  • Corroborate cost roll and tax lot information with realized and unrealized gains and losses
  • Coordinate the collection and classification of the information used to complete Form PF, populate Form PF and facilitate its submission
