By doing so, investors can purchase securities representing a share of the entire group, rather than owning an individual loan or mortgage. These securities allow investors to earn income from the interest and payments made by the original borrowers.<\/p>\n                        <\/div>\n                    <\/div>\n                                    <div class=\"row\">\n                        <div class=\"col\">\n                            How does securitisation work?                        <\/div>\n                        <div class=\"col\">\n                            <ol>\n<li>A company has a group of financial assets that it wants to sell as a separate entity, such as a special-purpose vehicle (SPV).<\/li>\n<li>The SPV and financial assets are bundled into something called a security, which is essentially a share in the group of assets.<\/li>\n<li>Investors can buy these securities and receive a regular return on their investment.<\/li>\n<li>The company that originally held the assets continues to collect loan\/asset re-payments from the borrowers and transfers the repayments to the SPV or trustee, and ultimately distributes these payments to the investors.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The asset group is often divided into different sections, based on similar characteristics like interest rates. Investors should know the contents of each security and the level of risk involved before they invest.<\/p>\n                        <\/div>\n                    <\/div>\n                                    <div class=\"row\">\n                        <div class=\"col\">\n                            Who benefits from securitisation?                        <\/div>\n                        <div class=\"col\">\n                            <p>Securitisation comes with a variety of benefits for different stakeholders, these benefits include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Using securities as collateral \u2013 companies with high-quality assets can use their securities as collateral, allowing them to borrow money at lower interest rates and therefore reducing their borrowing costs.<\/li>\n<li>Investors can earn an income \u2013 securities represent a share in an asset bundle, which means investors can earn an income from the interest and payments made by the original borrowers.<\/li>\n<li>Lender benefits \u2013 securitisation offers lender-specific benefits such as increased liquidity, risk management, and access to capital markets.
