Recently, five team members from the Bermuda office joined forces for a volunteer day at the Bermuda Zoological Society (BZS), making it a memorable experience for everyone.

Venus Balingit, an IQ-EQ Manila employee, joined us as part of her three-month secondment in Bermuda. This temporary transfer was the first of its kind for our cluster and it concluded on 1 October. The volunteer day at BZS marked her final event with our team before her return to Manila adding an extra layer of significance to the day.

The Bermuda Zoological Society has a remarkable mission – to inspire appreciation and care for island environments through animal exhibits, environmental education, conservation projects, and research programs. BZS boasts the distinction of being one of the world’s oldest aquariums, showcasing over 200 species of fish and delicate marine invertebrates, as well as 300 birds, reptiles, and mammals from oceanic islands.

Our team had the privilege of contributing to the BZS Turtle Project and participated in a turtle scrub, cleaning algae off the backs of green sea turtles. This hands-on experience deepened our understanding of turtle conservation.

Our day of volunteering allowed us to give back to Bermuda in a unique and meaningful way, supporting the important work of the Bermuda Zoological Society.
