Pride Month at IQ-EQ

June is PRIDE Month and here at IQ-EQ we want to celebrate and support our LGBTQ+ community.

After the success of last month’s celebration of Diversity Day in the Luxembourg office, they were really pleased to continue celebrating Diversity and Inclusion with Pride Month.

Pride Month is a celebration of identity and a call for tolerance and acceptance. Our first IQ-EQ value is Authentic, which means respecting each other and acting with integrity. Being authentic also means being true to ourselves. We are very proud that IQ-EQ has created a safe environment for everyone, one where diversity is valued and where we can all be authentic.

In the office, everyone was given a rainbow pin badge to wear it proudly on their lanyard, clothes or bag along with their Super Women/Men badge from International Women’s Day!

While Pride Month is a celebration, it is also the occasion to educate ourselves, to reflect on what we know about the LGBTQ+ community and about what we don’t know.

To raise awareness on the subject, Julia and Nele created a Pride Month bingo card, with 16 actions to perform this month. From sending a rainbow emoji on Teams, to reading a book with a LGBTQ+ character, to watching Luxembourg’s Prime Minister’s testimonial, these are all few things to learn more about inclusivity. They also prepared an exciting quiz for colleagues to find out how much they actually know about LGBTQ+ culture.

It’s important to celebrate Pride in the workplace because we must acknowledge and recognise the accomplishments of the gay rights movement and our brave LGBTQ+ advocates. It’s about the people in the LGBTQ+ community and our allies who fight and continue to fight for equality.

The IQ-EQ London office is proud to support the Mosaic Trust – a London based organisation that helps to support, educate and inspire young LGBTQ+ persons and those around them by providing accessible activities, programmes and services that aim to empower community members, provide essential resources, advocate for young LGBTQ+ rights, and embrace, promote and endorse the diversity of young people.

To support the LGTBQ+ community, the office took part in a Prosecco Pride Picnic on Thursday 17 June. Those in the office donated over £200 to a worthy cause and enjoyed some bubbly, indulged in some sweet treats and fresh summer fruits, and learnt more about Pride month and the Mosaic Trust.
