Mauritius continues to help those affected by oil spill

Our Mauritius office have continued to support those who were most affected by the devastating oil spill earlier this year.

The Mauritius management team hosted a ‘Bake for Charity’ event, where they raised 63,000 Mauritian Rupees (MUR).

This amount raised went a long way to help underprivileged families affected by the Wakashio oil spill in the South-East region of the island. The office partnered with local non-governmental organisation (NGO), Caritas Mahebourg who identified 23 families who would benefit from the food packages.

This initiative was aimed to support families that have been struggling to make ends meet due to their inability to work during the COVID pandemic and are now impacted by the oil spill.

IQ-EQ colleagues. Atish Teetan, Yvan Laroche and Fadilah Aumeeruddy from the Mauritius CSR Committee, along with a Caritas representative, delivered the food packs to those families.

Both Caritas Mahebourg and the families expressed their gratitude for joining together to support those affected in the South-East.
