Funds using any of the defined key terms must exclude investments in companies:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Involved in any activities related to controversial weapons<\/li>\n<li>Involved in the cultivation and production of tobacco, and<\/li>\n<li>That benchmark administrators find in violation of the <a href=\"https:\/\/unglobalcompact.org\/what-is-gc\/mission\/principles\">United Nations Global Compact principles<\/a> or the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oecd.org\/corporate\/mne\/\">Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Additionally, funds using environmental, sustainable, or impact-related terms must exclude investments in companies that:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Derive 1% or more of their revenues from exploration, mining, extraction, distribution or refining of hard coal and lignite<\/li>\n<li>Derive 10% or more of their revenues from the exploration, extraction, distribution or refining of oil fuels<\/li>\n<li>Derive 50% or more of their revenues from the exploration, extraction, manufacturing or distribution of gaseous fuels, and<\/li>\n<li>Derive 50% or more of their revenues from electricity generation with a greenhouse gas intensity above 100 g CO2 e\/kWh<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Specific types of funds<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Sustainability-related terms<\/strong>: Funds must commit to invest meaningfully in substantial investments as defined in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.esma.europa.eu\/sites\/default\/files\/2023-05\/JC_2023_18_-_Consolidated_JC_SFDR_QAs.pdf\">Article 2(17) of the SFDR<\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong>Transition or impact-related terms<\/strong>: Investments must be on a clear, measurable path to social or environmental transition or aim to generate a positive, measurable impact alongside financial returns<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Implementation timeline<\/h2>\n<p>The guidelines come into force three months after publication and apply immediately to new funds.
