Power Platform Senior Developer

Job Description

As a result of continued growth, we have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Power Platform Developer to join our global team, to develop custom business solutions using Power Platform, Microsoft 365 collaboration tools and SharePoint Online.

The Power Platform developer is responsible for collaborating with the Product Owner to clarify and further define the backlog and prioritization of work. Ability to understand, design and implement data models through Power Platform suite.

The developer is also responsible for collaborating with developers, system administrators and other stake holders to ensure successful delivery of automated solutions, integrating existing systems with Power Automate to automate processes and workflows.

Relationship building with stakeholders across the business and IT departments will be essential, as will understanding pain points and devising solutions, ultimately leading to a deep technical knowledge of the platforms used and input into development roadmap and driving best practices.

You will need to have experience working in a fast-paced environment and able to prioritise tasks that contribute to the delivery of project workstreams, BAU activities, and response to incidents. 

You will have the ability to work together with colleagues based all around the globe and across many technology functions.

You will be tenacious and passionate, with the ability to take ownership of tasks whilst managing your time effectively, and prioritising tasks to meet deadlines. 

You will maintain excellent attention to detail and have a logical approach to solving problems under pressure and an active communicator on technical issues that affect client delivery.

The role requires you to have the ability to discuss, communicate clearly and with impact in fast-paced and high-pressure situations including the ability to challenge and influence the view of senior stakeholders respectfully, confidently, and effectively to bring a new perspective.

This role also requires having the ability to research, recommend new technologies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of automated processes and workflows, collaborating with other teams to ensure compatibility and interoperability of automated processes and workflows.

Tasks (what does the role do on a day-to-day basis)

  • Works directly with users to support various projects and solutions.
  • Create Power Apps models and canvas driven apps.
  • Utilize problem-solving skills to understand client pain points and troubleshoot at challenges.
  • Design end to end solutions that improve collaboration, productivity and knowledge sharing while expanding capabilities in the Microsoft 365 stack.
  • Build proof of concept prototypes based on requirements documentation.
  • Participate in discussion of requirements, designing the application with customers and team members.
  • Provide effort estimates for a given requirement and able to explain requirements.
  • Work as an individual contributor and team player.
  • Review the development, coding standards and be aware of the application change management processes to ensure compliance within releases.
  • Provide a supporting hand to the leads to build strategy and processes.


Education / Professional Qualifications

  • Graduate degree, preferably in IT related disciplines
  • Certification in Power Platform Fundamentals is mandatory.
  • Certification in Power Platform Developer Associate or other relevant is recommended.

Background experience

  • With 5 years of overall IT experience and at least 3 years of working experience on developing applications as Power Apps developer.
  • Experience in developing Power Apps models and Canvas driven apps using Power Apps, Power Automate, etc. including use of both SharePoint Online and the Dataverse.
  • Experience in developing applications using Office 365 or Microsoft 365 development, including Exchange, Intune, Azure AD and Azure ecosystem.
  • Experience in managing and building development, test and production Power Platform environments.
  • Good development experience and familiarity with C#, ASP.NET MVC, Entity Framework, JavaScript, HTML and CSS.
  • Hands on experience in working with integration with SQL, SharePoint, REST APIs etc.
  • Experience in integrating Power BI reports and dashboards into Power Apps.
  • Experience in interpreting and designing database models.
  • Hands on experience in serialization/deserialization concepts.
  • Prior experience with Web services, REST APIs design and development.
  • Experience with SharePoint, ASP.NET MVC and JavaScript is added advantage.
  • Hands on experience in PowerShell scripting.
  • Aware of Azure DevOps, JIRA / Confluence systems.
  • Proficient and adapt at leveraging new approaches to solutions for system design and functionality.
  • Hands on experience using Azure DevOps for release management.

Company, product, and market knowledge

  • Experience of working in a complex, multi-country professional services, financial services or BPO organisation with complex processing requirements preferred but not essential.
  • Multi-country experience and demonstrates an ability to work in a multi-cultural, talented, and demanding team environment.
  • Possess the skills and the personality to operate effectively in a very fast-paced complex global business with an in-depth knowledge of program management.
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and oral form, with staff members, customers, suppliers, and the management team with the ability to make decisions, act and get results.
