Job description

As part of a small team reporting to the Money Laundering Reporting Officer and with further support from head office, the incumbent will have the exciting opportunity to be given broad Financial Crime mandate which extends to a number of licensed entities and managed trust business initially focusing within the IQ-EQ Private Wealth side of the business but which will in time expand to include IQ-EQ Funds.

In addition to the above, given the general and flexible mandate of this role, it is expected for the incumbent to demonstrate and develop, in time, well-rounded Compliance knowledge and be well-versed in a broad spectrum of Compliance skills, and not be restricted to the Financial Crime role.

The Manager will be expected to deputise for the Money Laundering Reporting Officer in his absence and in time progress within the business.

The successful candidate will be expected to be one of the primary contacts within the team to provide guidance to the business, using their initiative and therefore ‘owning’ matters, with the support of the Money Laundering Reporting Officer and Head of Compliance as they arise

Strong interpersonal skills particularly when dealing with the first line of defence, coupled with effective verbal and written communication in English.

Ability to work independently as part of a team and multi-task.

Excellent project management and organisational skills.

Understanding of Financial Crime role and risk-based Financial Crime approach, and ability to identify and remediate key Financial Crime risks.

Knowledge and experience in Sanctions regulations, compliance competencies, best practices and activities;

Candidates should have related professional experience in either Financial Services Regulatory Compliance, Law Enforcement (economic crime arena) or with a Regulatory body.
