Client Services Accountant

Job Description

Tasks / Duties:

  • Review and timely delivery of the following, in compliance with Internal and Regulatory policies and procedure:
  1. Accounts, NAV statements, financial statements and any other client deliverables;
  2. Investor and LP allocations, distributions and waterfalls
  3. Finalization of audit processes within deadlines;
  4. Financial statements are prepared, audited
  5. GST, CPF and Annual
  • Account opening with institutions (Banks, Custodian, Brokers) to include liaising, following up and monitoring operations of the account.
  • Review of unaudited financial accounts and statutory financial statements.
  • Working on complex accounting issues independently
  • Monitor trade orders, settlement, subscription documents and capital calls.
  • Complete checks and assist Client Services Managers with capital calls, capital account statements and investor statements.
  • Liaise and follow up with authorities such as Kanto Local Financial Bureau, Tokyo Metropolitan Government, National Tax Agency etc. and other regulatory authorities as appropriate.
  • Ensure that all entities are compliant with all relevant laws, licensing conditions, regulations and guidelines.
  • Assist with setting up, upgrading and maintaining appropriate systems, controls, procedures and processes, in adherence with the relevant legislation, regulations and guidelines.
  • Collaboration with other teams and/or team members to ensure information is adequately and within timelines
  • Client invoicing and prepare estimate billings periodically.
  • Track collection of outstanding invoices and get involved in getting them on a timely manner.

Qualifications

  • Strong Fund accounting skills especially for Private Equity, Venture Capital or Real Estate funds;
  • A graduate or a post graduate degree from a competent college/university
  • Japanese CPA, US CPA, Japanese tax accountant and Grade 1 Book Keeping.
  • Proficient in fund structures with focus on Cayman Islands and Japan;
  • Working HF/PE/VC/RE knowledge; experience of working with Fund Managers in Japan; 
  • At least 5  years of experience in Fund Administration
  • Initiative, drive and enthusiasm with ability to work under pressure;
  • Superior client interaction and communication skills;
  • Advanced time management skills to plan for work and deliverable in advance;
  • Oral and written Japanese language skills equivalent to a graduate from a competent Japanese university
  • Fully Fluent in English
  • Experience of working in a multinational environment will be an added advantage.
  • Self-driven, meticulous and organized with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
