You will report into the COO, APAC with a functional reporting line into the Group General Counsel. It will require an individual to negotiate and draft commercial contracts across a variety of legal disciplines including Financial Services (primarily funds), Private Wealth, Technology, Commercial, Data Protection. [There will also be the opportunity to get involved in Corporate / M&A projects in the APAC region.]
You’ll work as a key member of the APAC business while collaborating with members of the global legal team at group level and in other business regions (US; UK, Ireland & Crown Dependencies; Continental Europe). You will apply your commercial skills in this varied and challenging position to take responsibility for managing risk across the business. You will work closely with senior management in APAC and senior members of the Group Legal team.
The ideal candidate will have a track-record in delivering results in a fast-moving business and hence be comfortable with change and uncertainty. Excellent stakeholder management experience is essential to being successful in this role.
As a Legal Counsel you'll be responsible for negotiating and draft a wide variety of commercial contracts. Identify, monitor, research and resolve issues relating to commercial contracts liaising with external and internal stakeholders to ensure that risk to the business is minimized. Work closely with our regulated entities and the wider global business. Work closely with the wider group legal team to collaborate on global initiatives and share best practice.
